The 2015 Slammin' for the Cure raised $3,410 to benefit the Virtua Foundation's Tyanna Barre O'Brien Breast Care Comfort Fund. The Fund supports breast cancer awareness and education programs, early detection and care for families within Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties. Slammin' for the Cure was hosted by Arrowhead Tennis Club on March 7, 2015. The event included a round robin, tennis drills, beginner lessons and a chance auction. Ladies of the 3.0 Rancocas Volley Girls and 3.5 Snowballs USTA tennis teams thought up the event after one of their teammates survived breast cancer. Previous Slams were held in 2012 and 2013. For the first time this year the event partnered with the Virtua Foundation. Additionally, many local area businesses donated to the event contributing to its success. Be sure to keep your eye out for next year's event to join in on the festivities.
