New Jersey District Awards Criteria Information
Club of the Year (Commercial Organization) - NJD member clubs and commercial organizations. Previous winners are eligible for renomination seven years after receiving the award.
Coach of the Year - Employed as a college, high school, junior high or middle school coach. Residence and/or employement in the District is required. USTA membership required.
Family of the Year - Residence within NJD. USTA membership required.
Media Excellence Award - Organization or individual who is active in promoting tennis in print, television, radio or website media. Must live and/or contribute in NJD.
NJTL Chapter of the Year - Must be a registered NJTL in NJD.
Organization of the Year (non-commercial) - NJD member schools, CTAs, parks and recs or other non-profit organizations. Previous winners are eligible for renomination five years after receiving the award.
Tennis Pro of the Year - A teaching professional who is presently active as an instructor. Residence and/or employment in NJD, and membership in the USTA, is required.
Senior Service Award - Person who has been, through his/her efforts, cooperation and participation, most deserving the respect and honor of all seniors, either in play or organizational work for the betterment of senior tennis activity in NJD.
Team Spirit Award - A USTA Jr. Team Tennis team that plays within the NJD.
Tournament Director of the Year - Any tournament director who has put at least five years of service running tournaments in the District.
Volunteer of the Year - Any person who has at least five years of association with the District.
Junior Volunteer of the Year - Any person associated with the District under the age of 19.
